It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea.
It all begins with an idea. My idea came along a few years ago. I was sitting in what seemed like another meeting that had very little to do with my team and more to do with focusing on something that would take even more time away from the priorities we had at our distribution center in Florida. What if I had time to spend on leading and developing my team weekly and monthly to be a better version of themselves? My employer talked about the importance of serving leaders, but I did not think I was able to do that anymore. Yes, I could dedicate the rest of my life serving others but who would best served? Then I listened to the news to yet another example of a prominent senior leadership’s failures and more new leaders wanting nothing to do with getting into leadership roles. That’s it! I will give back to the leaders who need help and with their growth will cast more leaders with servant leadership mindfulness to help turnaround the chaos we are experiencing today. If I do this over the next 20 years maybe it could lead to a million people feeling better about their direct leader and or leadership in general. But what should I name it, how can I make it simple to understand……………
It was only the beginning of a lot of work to come
It all begins with an idea.
The naming of a business can be very overwhelming especially if you have never owned a business before. Many said “What about Spencer Warren Consulting”? I never liked it, I wanted it to be a brand and my name well is not Michael Jordan or Jeff Bezos now, is it? I keep wanting it to be what the business purpose was about: helping leaders. I love talking about Servant Leadership and have a lot of experience in that space. I was driving home on I 4 which is not the safest place to dream about names and I passed a van that said ProServ on the side. A few days later I saw CommServ on an ad on the internet. A week letter while in a meeting I say Innoserv on a sister company van that my former company owned. I decided to call it LeaderServe.com as I wanted to serve leaders in any capacity to help them grow. I was very relieved and went to file it as an LLC. However, was rejected as Leaderserve was already taken 20 years earlier and not in business but still not available. Looking back, I do not think it was accidental that I ran in 3 different logos that dropped to e! Idea check, name and LLC check what now? It was only the beginning of a lot of work to come
